Jefferson Street Corridor Study
Jefferson Street Corridor Study
Jefferson Street is one of Nashville’s most iconic transportation corridors and the Jefferson Street Corridor Study will work with the community to make it safer and more accessible for all users while maintaining the unique character of the corridor. The study is part of the Choose How You Move initiative, which aims to improve sidewalks, signals, service, and safety across our community.
Community is at the heart of Jefferson Street, and always has been, so this study will keep the community’s needs and vision for Jefferson Street at its core. Jefferson Street and the North Nashville community have been at the center of some of the most important historic, cultural, and social events in the history of Nashville and the United States. The area of the Jefferson Street Corridor Study is home to 26,975 residents, this vibrant neighborhood with deep ties to the local and national Civil Rights Movement suffered lasting damage, separation, and isolation from interstate construction in the 1960s. Throughout the Jefferson Street Corridor Study property owners, business owners, and residents past, present, and future will shape the future of plans, projects, and funding opportunities for Jefferson Street and the broader North Nashville community.
