Metro Planning has launched the Ecological Conservation Strategy (ECS) to shape a future where Nashville continues to grow and thrive while preserving the landscapes, ecosystems, and sense of place that makes it unique.   This is Nashville's first countywide plan for understanding the effects of recent growth on the county’s landscape since the 2011 Open Space Plan and will explore opportunities to protect and conserve our natural environment – such as waterways, forests, hilltops, hillsides, and green spaces – while supporting growth.  Over the next 18 months, working with stakeholders and residents across Davidson County, Metro Nashville will assess the health of our natural resources and develop a concrete action plan that could include conservation priorities, pilot projects, and policy recommendations based on expert analysis and community and stakeholder feedback. 

The Wasioto Bend street update project will incorporate planned streets into Metro’s long-range transportation planning document, the Major and Collector Street Plan (MCSP). Located along the banks of the Cumberland River and lying just east of Downtown, Wasioto Bend (formerly known as East Bend) is the southernmost portion of the larger East Bank area. Wasioto Bend is envisioned as a vibrant, mixed use neighborhood with an active riverfront and convenient multi-modal access to Downtown, East Nashville, and beyond. The Planning Department, NDOT, and partner agencies will work with the community to create clear guidance for future street development throughout Wasioto Bend. This page will be updated regularly with information about the project, including opportunities to share your thoughts and talk with the project team.

Jefferson Street is one of Nashville’s most iconic transportation corridors and the Jefferson Street Corridor Study will work with the community to make it safer and more accessible for all users while maintaining the unique character of the corridor. The study is part of the Choose How You Move initiative, which aims to improve sidewalks, signals, service, and safety across our community.
