Project Overview
The Gallatin Pike corridor is among Nashville's busiest roads, connecting Downtown, East Nashville, Madison, and Rivergate. The corridor serves residents, businesses, schools, transit riders, and visitors every day and has been identified as a key investment corridor in Nashville's voter-approved Choose How You Move transportation improvement program.
The Gallatin Pike All-Access Corridor will build on years of community engagement and planning to create a safer, more reliable, and more accessible transportation corridor for everyone, whether you walk, roll, ride transit, bike, or drive. The project is expected to include a combination of safety improvements, transit enhancements, smarter traffic signals, and accessibility upgrades that improve how people move along and across the corridor. Planning and design are currently underway for the first phase of the All-Access Corridor from South 5th Street to Briley Parkway. Community feedback gathered through previous engagement efforts will continue to help shape the future of the corridor. Future engagement opportunities will be posted to this page.
Why Gallatin Pike?
Gallatin Pike is part of Nashville's High Injury Network and have been identified as some of the city's most dangerous streets for people walking, biking, riding transit, and driving. Community members have consistently identified the need for safer crossings, better transit access, improved lighting, traffic calming, and safer conditions for all roadway users.

Corridor Progress
Strategic Planning Underway
The project team recently completed a multi-agency workshop focused on aligning project priorities, refining delivery strategies, and advancing implementation planning for the Gallatin Pike corridor. The team is currently developing the scope of work and refining the project schedule. Future updates will be posted to this page.
The first phase of the corridor study area is being expanded from the previously studied segment between South 5th Street and Eastland Avenue to include the broader corridor extending to Briley Parkway. Further extensions to the north will come in a later phase.
