Mobile Vending Permit Legislation
Mobile Vending Permit Legislation
The Nashville Department of Transportation and Multimodal Infrastructure (NDOT) is establishing Mobile Vending Regulations for mobile businesses who operate in the public right-of-way, including public streets, roads, and alleys in Nashville and Davidson County.
The Nashville Department of Transportation and Multimodal Infrastructure is establishing a permanent permitting process based on the current Mobile Food Vendor Pilot Program, streamlining the permitting requirements for mobile vendors under the Nashville Department of Transportation and Multimodal Infrastructure (NDOT) in Nashville and Davidson County, and we need your help.
This legislation will establish a permanent permitting process and regulations for mobile vending businesses. The permanent permitting process will streamline the permitting requirements for mobile vendors under the Nashville Department of Transportation and Multimodal Infrastructure (NDOT). The permitting process only applies to mobile vendors who operate in the public right-of-way, not on private property. This legislation will not change the permits or fees required for mobile vendors operating in the public right-of-way. It will give authority to the Traffic and Parking Commission to regulate mobile vendors operating in the public right-of-way. Any future changes to the mobile vendor permit or associated fees will be under the authority of the Traffic and Parking Commission where members of the public can give public comment.
Why we're asking
We are looking for input from mobile vendors to review the mobile vending permit legislation and to help us understand what areas outside of downtown to approve for mobile vending.
What we want
We are establishing the mobile vendor permit to
Establish a designated permit for mobile vending businesses operating in the public right-of-way
- Give the Traffic & Parking Commission authority to designate locations on public property for mobile vending.
- Streamline the permit process for mobile venders.
How you can help
You can review the legislation, share your feedback, and recommend locations the Traffic & Parking Commission should or should not allow mobile vending in public right-of-way. Continue to get started.
